Education
He attended college at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota, where he graduated cum laude in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology. After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr. Tomlinson went to dental school at Boston University’s Goldman School of Medicine. He graduated magna cum laude in 2005.
The majority of oral surgeons in Georgia end their studies after dental school; however, Dr. Tomlinson went on to medical school at the University of Maryland. He received his M.D. in 2008, and began his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery that same year. From July 2010-June 2011, he was chief resident of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center & R. Adam Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Dr. Tomlinson is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Dr. Tomlinson is a fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In addition, he is a member of:

He is also on staff at Athens Regional Medical Center and provides his services for patients with facial trauma and other emergency oral surgery needs.
Interests & Hobbies
When Dr. Tomlinson isn’t working at AOSC or Athens Regional, he and his wife enjoy attending University of Georgia sporting events including football, baseball, tennis, and swimming. Dr. Tomlinson also enjoys playing golf and tennis, running, and spending time outdoors.
