September 2022 marks the 11th anniversary of Athens Oral Surgery Center, and we’re proudly celebrating the success of our practice as we look forward to what is in store. To honor these past 11 years, let’s revisit the beginning of Athens Oral Surgery Center and the vision Dr. Jonathan Tomlinson brought to life.
Going Back to the Start
Athens Oral Surgery Center started 11 years ago in September 2011, when Dr. Jonathan Tomlinson took over the practice of Athens’s much-beloved oral surgeon, Dr. Stephen Fennell. Dr. Tomlinson’s had a goal to grow what Dr. Fennell had started and shift focus on his own passions in oral healthcare. Dr. Tomlinson’s commitment allowed Athens Oral Surgery Center to increase in practice size and expand patients’ capabilities.
About Dr. Tomlinson
Originally from St. Cloud, Minnesota, Dr. Tomlinson graduated magna cum laude from Boston University School of Dental Medicine in 2005 after earning his undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2001. He then earned his M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 2008.
In 2011, Dr. Tomlinson and his wife, Kimberly, moved to Athens, GA, to assume leadership of Dr. Fennel’s practice and transform it into what Athens Oral Surgery Center is known for today. Now, 11 years after the transition, we proudly celebrate our practice’s success and look forward to many more years of dedicated service to the patients in and around our community.
